Halloween card. I can't resist a pun or play on words (you may have noticed).
This card was created to send out digitally, and only printed as an afterthought.
I have always had a bit of a goth tendency (and a long black wig), as well as a love of Halloween.
A friend, David Schneider, did the Siddham character/calligraphy on the wall behind me.
My font "Stranger" and a Gothic and lots of Photoshop.
Circa 1999
I hand tore all the edges to create the deckle look. Whew.
One of my favorite books in my teens was "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man."
Also an analog production.
1994
For my move to Kansas I used my font Bruno and cat Bruno to create this card with my new address.
I found a copyright free view of a cornfield, appropriately on a KU site.
2005
Trying to solve how to get my own lettering on my back, a slide of it was projected on my back and photographed. A photo of me was pulled through a copy machine for the face to the right. It was all created analog.
Still using the 80's geometric logo seen on the wall above.
Printed on silver coated stock.
1990
This was one of my first postcards and got me Quincy Jones as a client.
I got permission from Harley Davidson in Venice to paint on this wall behind their building. It was scheduled to be painted under in a couple of weeks anyway which I liked as I'd clearly written over gang writing (who's permission is impossible to get...ha) and it would all be erased.
It went up very quickly and I was finished before the photographer set up.
This was my '80's logo (and look).
1989
A digital postcard/print.
To accompany my corporate name, Brandlettering, I ordered a branding iron with my logo and branded numerous things including these boots.
